Your Health Coach

“The doctor said I have to change my lifestyle and I have no idea where to start.”  I hear this so many times in my practice.  Perhaps this was not the case and you were fortunate enough to have simply made the decision on your own.  For whatever reason you came to the decision that “YES! The time has come!  I need a lifestyle shift.”  Either way the first question is generally “Where do I begin?”  In my practice, I answer that question – and many more – every day.  I support my clients through each phase of their wellness program, from dazed and confused newbie to healthy and focused wellness warrior.

I am a Health Coach.  I believe that unless we wake up and take responsibility for our own health and nutrition, the tide of life will take us towards convenience and away from health.  My job is to listen to you and guide you in making choices in food and nutrition and exercise and mental balance that will improve your health once and for all.

How do you tell if you need a Health Coach?

Like having a personal trainer at the gym or a mentor in your career, when you’ve got a professionally trained partner to help guide the way, achieving your health goals becomes a lot easier. Could you do this on your own? Sure, but I believe your experience will be richer, more successful and even more profound with a Health Coach.

I tailor a plan specific to YOU.

Your wellness is way more than what you eat.  You have daily real-life responsibilities, stress levels and work issues, family dynamics and environmental toxins to consider.  All aspects of your life impact how well you can incorporate healthier habits. With a health coach you will work together to develop a customized plan that takes your individual physical, emotional and lifestyle factors into account and fits in with the way you live this ultimately leads you to more permanent, positive change.

I help you make gradual changes

A complete shift all at once can be scary and overwhelming.  I know.  I have been there on the receiving end of advice I had no idea how to incorporate.  My role will be to help you develop a plan that sustains your body as it gets it to a healthier place, I will help you identify and integrate sensible, sustainable practices to enhance your health.   Together we will decide on small changes that will build up to a lifetime of good health.

I help you debunk the overload of information

I have studied over 100 different dietary theories.  You may feel like every diet you learn about conflicts with another diet. It’s true, nutrition can be complicated.  Is it better to be Paleo or Vegan?   Well have you heard about the concept of bio-individuality?  This is where we determine what foods are healthy for YOU and what will work for YOU.  No “diet” needed.

I Get Granular With Your Health

When last have you sat down and spoken for an hour with a professional about aspects of your wellness.  You go to the doctor when you are sick, but who helps to keep you healthy?  Most primary care physicians know that nutrition, stress reduction, weight management and exercise are important, but may not take the time to teach you specific wellness practices. Consequently, only a few health care providers offer patients recommendations much beyond “lose some weight,” or “eat more salads.”   Your coach, however, is prepared to get granular, to drill down help figure out HOW.

I live the healthy balanced lifestyle too

I don’t just advise, I do, I am involved, actively hunting down wellness information, analyzing nutritional news, testing recipes, sharing tips, trying exercise classes, attending courses – all to keep expanding my knowledge base every day. So what does that mean for you? It means that you get personalized information, fresh approaches and answers to keep your health journey interesting, educational and enlightening.

Changing long-held negative behaviors, beliefs and attitudes is challenging. Making big changes can also be a lonely road – but not if you have me to hold your hand, guide you on the path and keep you accountable. You won’t have to go it alone.
